Great flight so far. My back is tired and I really want to go on a walk, but the stewardess gave me seconds on dinner and moved me to a row with five seats and only two of us in it, so I’m feeling pretty good. I just watched Seven Pounds with Will Smith. It was really uplifting and depressing at the same time. The next movie is Bride Wars. I doubt that will be as thought provoking (I enjoy movies that don’t require too much thinking).
It just changed from Sunday to Monday. I had a day with no night, then another day. I have a feeling, I’m going to be a little off on my sleep schedule for a few days. By the time I adjust, I’ll probably be on the way back to Utah.
Getting off the plane was comical. We had to fill in a form saying if we had any symptoms of the flu and a lady came through the cabin to take our temperature before we could get off the plane. She was wearing a mask (along with all the airport staff) and snorkeling goggles. She used a handheld electronic thermometer that she held to our foreheads to get a reading. I felt like we were quarantined, but we did get off and I found my people easily.
I got a good short run in and a great dinner. Now, I’m off to bed. My hammer throw presentation is in the morning.
Glad you had a good flight and did not bring any unhealthy American germs into your new temporary home. You'll be so busy you won't know you are suffering with jet lag.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to hearing about your work and also the meals in Beijing - hope the all-you-can-eat buffets have been warned of your arrival - that's the real threat to China - not your flu!
